Remote Controller Setup and Network Connection
Your D313 remote controller is an Android-based device that needs proper network connectivity for full functionality. Here's how to set it up and maintain reliable connections.
Initial Remote Controller Setup
First Power-On: Press and hold the power button until the screen activates. The controller has a 20,000mAh internal battery providing 6-20 hours of operation time.
Antenna Positioning: Always position both antennas parallel to each other and vertically upward at 45-degree angles from the controller body. Never keep antennas parallel to the controller surface.
Firmware Updates: Before first flight, ensure both controller and aircraft firmware are updated to the latest versions through the DMRGCS app.
Network Connection Methods
The remote controller supports four connection methods:
5GHz WiFi Connection: The controller only supports 5GHz WiFi networks (not 2.4GHz). Connect through standard Android WiFi settings.
Ethernet Connection: Use the WAN port for direct wired internet connection, providing the most stable data link.
USB Cellular Modem: Connect a USB cellular modem through the OTG port for internet access in remote locations.
Bluetooth Tethering: Share internet from your smartphone via Bluetooth connection.
When Using with D313 Dock
If you're using the automatic airport dock:
- Connect to the dock's WiFi hotspot, or
- Use ethernet cable between controller WAN port and dock's LAN1 or LAN2 ports
Stick Mode Configuration
American Hand (Default): Left stick controls throttle/altitude and yaw rotation. Right stick controls pitch and roll movement.
Japanese Hand: Right stick controls throttle/altitude, left stick controls directional movement.
To change modes:
- Open DMRGCS app settings
- Select RC Settings
- Choose between American or Japanese hand configuration
- Confirm the change when prompted
Controller Maintenance
Charging: Use the USB-C port with QC3.0 compatible chargers. The controller is compatible with standard smartphone chargers.
Storage: Store in cool, dry conditions. The controller's battery should be recharged every few months if not used regularly.
Screen Protection: The built-in Android display is your primary interface - protect it from impacts and extreme temperatures.
