Using the D313 Dual Camera System
The D313's dual-lens system combines visible light and thermal imaging capabilities for comprehensive aerial inspection and monitoring.
Understanding Display Modes
Access display modes by tapping the camera mode icon in the app:
Visible Light Mode: Shows only the standard camera view - ideal for general photography and videography.
Thermal Mode: Displays only infrared thermal imaging - perfect for heat detection, building inspections, and search operations.
Picture-in-Picture Modes:
- Mode 1: Thermal image in center with visible light as background
- Mode 2: Thermal image in small window (lower left corner)
Split Screen Mode: Shows both cameras side-by-side for simultaneous comparison.
Temperature Measurement Functions
The thermal camera offers three measurement modes:
Point Temperature: Tap the point measurement icon, then tap anywhere on the thermal image to get temperature at that specific location.
Area Temperature: Select area measurement, then drag to create a rectangle on the thermal image. Displays maximum, minimum, and average temperatures within the selected area.
Picture-in-Picture Temperature: Measures temperature across the entire thermal image window, showing max, min, and average values automatically.
Green dots mark the coldest areas, red dots mark the hottest areas in your measurement zone.
Camera Controls and Settings
Zoom: Use the zoom slider for up to 25x digital magnification. Note that zoom only affects the preview - recorded images maintain original resolution.
Photo/Video Switching: Tap the mode switch icon to alternate between still photography and video recording.
Quick Gimbal Controls:
- Tap the horizontal arrow icon to level the camera forward
- Tap the downward arrow icon to point the camera straight down
Recording Controls: Either use the on-screen shutter button or the SW1/SW4 switches on your remote controller for hands-free operation.
The camera automatically saves thermal images in TIFF format for precise temperature data retention.
