AB Point Operation Mode
Step-by-step instructions for setting up and executing a spraying task using AB Point Mode.
Field Ranger X50: AB Point Operation Mode
AB Point Mode is designed for efficient spraying across rectangular or evenly shaped fields. In this mode, the drone flies between two designated points—Point A and Point B—automatically spraying while maintaining a consistent heading and spacing.
This guide walks you through the full setup and execution process.
Setup
1. Launch the Smart Flight App and enter the Start Operation section.
2. Select AB Operation from the list of available flight modes.
3. Take off and manually fly the drone to one end of the field.
4. Tap the “A” button in the app to mark Point A.
5. Fly to the opposite end of the field and tap “B” to mark Point B.
These two points create the spray line, along which the drone will operate.
Execution
Before beginning the task, set the following parameters in the app:
- Flight Speed
Altitude
Spray Width
Lateral Step Distance (how far the drone moves sideways after each pass)
Flow Rate or Spray Volume per Acre
After confirming these parameters:
1. Conduct a quick pre-flight status check to ensure the drone is functioning correctly and the app shows no errors.
2. Tap Start AB Operation to begin the spraying task.
3. The drone will fly from A to B, spraying along the path, then automatically shift sideways and return along a parallel line until the area is covered.
You can pause and resume the task as needed—for example, when refilling pesticide or changing the battery.
Ending Task
Once spraying is complete:
1. Tap End AB Operation in the app.
2. Review the Operation Report, which provides data on coverage area, time, and spray volume.
3. Tap Confirm OK to save and close the task.
> 💡 AB Mode is best suited for uniform fields with few obstacles. For irregular terrain or multiple boundaries, consider using Route Mode instead.

Using AB Point Mode helps automate spraying while keeping control intuitive and efficient. It’s a great choice for farmers looking to cover mid-sized fields with high accuracy and minimal effort.
