Field Ranger X50: Calibration Guide
Calibration is critical to the safe and accurate operation of your Field Ranger X50. This guide walks you through the key calibration procedures—including compass, weight, and spray system calibrations—that ensure proper flight behavior and optimal pesticide delivery.
Compass Calibration
Compass calibration aligns the drone’s internal compass with Earth’s magnetic field, helping to prevent directional drift or GPS navigation errors.
When to Calibrate:
- After assembling the drone
After replacing the GPS module
If the new flight location is more than 100 km from the last
When the app displays a “Compass Abnormal” warning or erratic heading behavior
Steps:
1. Open the Smart Flight app.
2. Go to More Settings → Drone Settings → Sensor.
3. Tap Compass Calibration and follow the on-screen prompts.
4. Rotate the drone according to the instructions to complete the process.
Tare Weight Calibration
Tare calibration zeros the onboard weight sensor with an empty tank, ensuring accurate readings during spraying tasks.
Steps:
1. Place the drone on a level surface with an empty tank.
2. In the app, go to Tare Weight and tap Calibrate.
If the weight still appears incorrect after tare adjustment, perform a full weight sensor calibration.
Weight Calibration
Weight calibration ensures that the drone accurately detects the payload for spraying operations.
Steps:
1. Add a known weight to the tank (e.g., the 13.5 kg battery).
2. In the app, go to Weight Calibration.
3. Enter the exact weight and tap Calibrate.
Alternatively, input the weight of any added material and calibrate accordingly.
Spraying Calibration
Spraying calibration ensures the pump's flow rate is correctly measured for accurate pesticide application.
Steps:
1. Add exactly 35 liters of clean water to the spray tank.
2. In the app, go to Spray Calibration and tap Start.
3. The system will run a test spray to record the maximum flow rate.
4. If the app reports a low flow rate, check for clogs in the filter or nozzle.

Performing these calibrations before operation ensures that your Field Ranger X50 flies safely and applies pesticides precisely—saving you time, chemical use, and potential rework.
