Initial Setup Guide

Step-by-step instructions to unbox, assemble, and configure your Field Ranger X50 for first use.

Field Ranger X50: Initial Setup Guide

Getting your Field Ranger X50 ready for flight involves a few straightforward but essential steps. This guide will walk you through unboxing, assembling, charging, and connecting your drone for the first time.

Unboxing & Assembly

Before unfolding the drone’s arms, visually inspect all components to ensure they are intact and correctly installed. To deploy the arms, press the handle until you hear a distinct "click," confirming they are securely locked into place.

The propellers are foldable and should be fully extended to 180°. Check for matching markings on the propellers and motors—“CW” for clockwise and “CCW” for counterclockwise—to ensure correct installation. Improper alignment can cause flight instability.

Next, unfold the centrifugal spray nozzles so they’re perpendicular to the ground, then insert the battery into its compartment until you hear a “click,” indicating that it’s securely locked.

Charging the Remote Controller

To charge the remote controller, use the included Micro-USB cable and a 5V/2A charger. Plug the cable into the Micro-USB port on the back of the remote and connect it to a power source. The power button indicator will flash while charging and turn off once charging is complete.

Avoid charging in environments above 60°C or using chargers rated over 5V, and monitor the process to prevent overheating or accidents.

Powering On & Connecting to the Drone

To power on the remote controller, press and hold the power button, then release it after a short press. Do the same for the drone battery: a short press checks the charge, and a short + long press turns it on.

With both the controller and drone powered, open the Smart Flight app on your mobile device. Navigate to the connection screen and tap to link the drone to your controller. The status bar will confirm a successful connection.

Once connected, you’re ready to move on to calibrations and pre-flight checks before your first takeoff.
