Field Ranger X50: Smart Systems & Safety
The Field Ranger X50 integrates advanced safety and smart management features to ensure both drone and operator are protected throughout the mission. From real-time battery monitoring to automated obstacle avoidance, these systems help reduce risk and maximize performance in the field.
Obstacle Avoidance Radar
The onboard obstacle avoidance radar detects objects within a range of 2 to 12 meters in front and behind the drone. It actively adjusts the drone's flight to maintain a safe distance from any obstacles in its path.
Additionally, the radar supports terrain-following, which keeps the drone at a consistent height above crops by tracking changes in elevation. This is especially useful in uneven or sloped agricultural terrain.
Tip: Regularly clean the radar sensor to remove debris and pesticide residue, which can reduce accuracy.
Smart Battery Protection System
The X50’s smart battery includes built-in protections to prevent operation under dangerous conditions. The drone will not take off or will pause mid-flight if any of the following occur:
- Communication Failure: If the battery cannot communicate with the drone, takeoff is blocked.
Overcharge Protection: Takeoff is prohibited if any cell exceeds 4.35V.
Voltage Imbalance: A cell voltage difference greater than 300mV disables takeoff or triggers mid-air hovering.
Low Voltage: If below 3.4V per cell or less than 20% capacity, takeoff is denied. Forced landing is triggered below 5%.
Overheating: If the battery exceeds 75°C before flight or 90°C during operation, the drone will stop or hover.
Low Temperature: Below -5°C, takeoff is blocked. Between -5°C and 10°C, only non-payload flights are allowed.
These safeguards help protect your drone from power-related failures and ensure safe, controlled landings in critical battery situations.
UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) Mode
The drone includes a 20-second UPS buffer, which allows the system to remain powered after battery removal. This feature enables hot-swapping the battery without rebooting the drone or interrupting operations.
If no new battery is installed within 20 seconds, the system will automatically shut down.
> Note: For calibrations requiring a full reboot—like compass or accelerometer resets—be sure to power down the drone completely before restarting.
General Safety Best Practices
- Always wear protective gear when handling pesticides or flying in rugged conditions.
Maintain a safe distance from the drone during takeoff, landing, and motor checks.
Never operate near people, power lines, animals, or inside buildings.
Avoid flying in poor weather conditions such as rain, fog, snow, or strong winds.
Only trained and certified operators should control the drone.

Following these smart system guidelines and safety protocols will help ensure your Field Ranger X50 operates efficiently, reliably, and most importantly—safely.
