MONTY

Skip the traffic. Skip the runway. Monty is an electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft built for point-to-point urban flight. American-assembled in Lafayette, Louisiana. Unveiled at AUVSI XPONENTIAL 2026 in Detroit.

Why Monty

Monty isn't a concept render — it's a real aircraft that just debuted on the show floor in Detroit. A compact 8.5-foot airframe with a six-rotor redundant lift system and 35 minutes of continuous flight time. Set your destination and go. Monty handles the rest with fully autonomous AB point navigation. Small enough to fit where helicopters can't. Quiet enough for neighborhoods. Simple enough that flying feels like driving.

Design

Design

Monty's body is a faceted, angular shell with sharp geometric surfacing that gives it a presence on the ground and cuts clean through the air. The lower cockpit sits beneath an exposed aluminum lattice frame that decouples the rotor system from the cabin — keeping weight low, strength high, and maintenance accessible. Integrated LED accent lighting runs along the body lines for visibility and status indication. The open-frame upper structure puts the engineering on display rather than hiding it behind panels.

What it does

Takes off and lands vertically.

No runway. No helipad. Monty lifts from a flat surface and sets down the same way.

Flies itself.

Set a start point and an endpoint. The onboard flight system handles navigation, obstacle avoidance, and landing autonomously.

Single-seat cockpit.

A tactile, color-coded control interface built for immediate readability and minimal cognitive load. One pilot, zero distractions.

Carries what you need.

An integrated storage bay is engineered directly into the airframe — no bolted-on afterthoughts, no structural tradeoffs.

Stays cool under load.

Active intake geometry channels airflow across avionics and batteries, reducing thermal load without fans or extra weight.
